Pneumatic counters count pulses of compressed air; each pulse is translated numerically and shown on a mechanical digital display.
There are two pneumatic counter types; one gives an output upon reaching a preset number, this type of counter is a pneumatic preset counter, others count the input pulse only and do not provide an output, these are called totalising pneumatic counters.
The pneumatic preset counter can be subtracting with a single row of digits that reduce to zero, or adding with two rows of numbers, the lower row shows the preset count value which is continuously visible and the upper row increments up to the preset number.
Preset adding and subtracting pneumatic counters can be ordered with a 3 or 5 digit display with either 4mm push-in ports or M5 threaded connections, they are panel mounted only. Totalising pneumatic counters can be resettable or non-resettable with 4, 6 or 8 digit display; they can be panel or surface mounted.
Pneumatic predetermining and totalising counters are reset by pressing the front reset button or by a pulse of air to the rear reset port which also turns off the pneumatic output generated by preset counters.
As well as standard counting devices which are intrinsically safe, we offer ATEX fully certified, CE marked pneumatic counting products that comply with the ATEX directive for use within Group I category M2, and Group II category 2, zones 1 and 21.
Our range of counters are fully interchangeable with all other manufacturers; they are competitively priced and typically available from stock.
